Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai has finalized the composition of the region's eighth Legislative Assembly with seven new appointments, according to an official announcement published Monday.
The SAR Official Gazette confirmed the appointments of Cheong Weng Chon, Lei Wun Kong, Kou Kam Fai, Chao Ka Chon, Lam Fat Iam, Wong Ka Lon, and Kou Ngon Seng. These selections complete the 33-member legislative body following September's elections, which saw 14 directly elected and 12 indirectly elected lawmakers take their seats.
The appointments align with Macao's Basic Law and electoral system, reinforcing the SAR's governance framework. This development comes as Macao continues to strengthen its administrative systems while maintaining its unique character under the "one country, two systems" principle.
