Coco Gauff Advances to Fifth Straight French Open Quarterfinal

World No. 2 Coco Gauff secured her fifth consecutive French Open quarterfinal berth with a commanding 6-0, 7-5 victory over Russia's Ekaterina Alexandrova on Monday. The 21-year-old American dominated the first set with three service breaks before overcoming a spirited second-set challenge at Roland-Garros.

"It feels great to be back in the quarters here, and really happy with how I played today," said Gauff, who now shares the season's clay-court win lead (15) with Ukraine's Elina Svitolina. The 2023 US Open champion aims to convert her recent finals experience in Madrid and Rome into Grand Slam success.

Gauff highlighted her evolving resilience: "Losing opening sets in Madrid and Rome taught me to fight for every point. Consistency requires maintaining that mentality." Her tactical maturity will face new tests as she pursues her first French Open title.
