Chinese Vice President Han Zheng Meets U.S. Business Leaders to Enhance China-U.S. Relations

Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community in Washington D.C. on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of strengthening China-U.S. economic ties and fostering mutual cooperation.

Visiting Washington D.C. as the special representative of President Xi Jinping, Vice President Han Zheng attended meetings with key figures from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce ahead of the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday.

During the meetings, Han expressed China’s optimism about the future of China-U.S. relations, highlighting the recent positive dialogue between President Xi and President-elect Trump.

\"China and the United States share broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation,\" Han stated. \"We hope that U.S. companies will continue to invest and root themselves in China, playing an active role as a bridge between our two nations.\"

He acknowledged the vital role that the U.S. business community has played in fostering bilateral economic and trade cooperation, calling them participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of China’s reform and opening-up initiatives.

Han assured that China would continue to advance its reform and opening-up efforts, striving to improve the business environment for foreign investors.

Representatives from the U.S. business community echoed Han’s sentiments, expressing optimism about China’s economic prospects and the opportunities it presents. They underscored the importance of pursuing mutually beneficial cooperation and finding constructive ways for the two nations to coexist.

\"The recent phone conversation between President-elect Trump and President Xi sent a positive, encouraging message,\" said a representative. \"We support strengthening U.S.-China dialogue and communication to advance bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.\"

In a separate meeting, Han met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, welcoming U.S. companies like Tesla to seize opportunities in China’s growing market.

\"China welcomes U.S. companies, including Tesla, to share in the fruits of our development,\" Han noted. \"We look forward to greater contributions to promoting China-U.S. economic and trade relations.\"

Musk expressed enthusiasm for deepening Tesla’s investment and cooperation with China, highlighting the company’s commitment to playing an active role in promoting economic exchanges between the two nations.

Han’s visit and meetings with U.S. business leaders signify a promising start to his engagements in Washington D.C., setting a positive tone for the future of China-U.S. relations as both nations seek to strengthen economic ties and cooperation.
