Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to working closely with Vietnamese leaders to enhance strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation, aiming to build a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
Xi, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made these remarks on Saturday while exchanging congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong over the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
President Xi emphasized that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future of strategic importance. He noted that since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, both nations have stood side by side, supporting each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.
\"The profound friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers, is the most vivid portrayal of the relations between our two parties and countries,\" Xi said.
In advancing socialism, both countries have learned from each other and progressed together, deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation. Xi highlighted that China and Vietnam share the same ideals and pursue a shared future, which is the most striking feature of their bilateral relations.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi stated that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance, elevating relations to a new stage.
As the world undergoes unprecedented changes, Xi emphasized that China and Vietnam's continued commitment to socialism bears on the future of both parties and countries, as well as the global socialist cause. He stressed that this commitment is of great significance to the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world.
President Xi expressed his willingness to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for both sides to keep in mind their original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, delivering more benefits to their peoples and contributing to the revitalization of the global socialist cause and human progress.
