In a significant move to bolster technological innovation, construction has officially commenced on a new robotics industrial park in Beijing’s northern Changping District. The park is situated within the Future Science City, a hub designed to foster cutting-edge scientific advancements.
The initiative is part of a broader plan unveiled by the municipal government in 2023 to establish \”dual robot industrial parks\” in the capital. The second park is set to be located in Yizhuang, in southern Beijing, reflecting the city’s strategic commitment to become a leader in robotics and automation.
According to officials from the Changping District government, the northern robotics park will focus on building public service platforms and promoting enterprises that specialize in robotics innovation. The aim is to support the development of the robotics industry throughout Beijing, enhancing the city’s competitive edge in this rapidly growing sector.
\”Our district is home to 41 colleges and universities,\” stated the economy and information technology bureau of Changping. \”This provides a solid foundation of talent and intellectual support essential for the advancement of the robotics industry.\”
The two robotics parks will cover a combined area of approximately 56,000 square meters. They are expected to be completed in the first half of 2026 and will serve as standardized factories for enterprises, offering state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
The establishment of these parks is anticipated to attract both domestic and international companies, fostering collaboration and driving innovation in robotics.
