China Urges Global Action on ICJ’s Palestine Ruling

China has called for unified international efforts to implement the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) advisory opinion addressing the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun emphasized the need for 'comprehensive, just, and lasting' solutions during a Thursday press briefing.

ICJ Ruling Sets Legal Precedent

The Hague-based court ruled on Wednesday that Israel must ensure unimpeded humanitarian aid reaches Gaza, including supplies coordinated through UN agencies. Guo noted the decision reflects 'widespread international consensus' on addressing Palestinian suffering.

China's Legal Engagement

As a permanent UN Security Council member, China actively participated in ICJ proceedings by submitting written arguments and delivering oral statements. 'Our positions on critical matters of international law are clearly reflected in the court's opinion,' Guo stated, reaffirming Beijing's commitment to multilateral dispute resolution.

Consistent Stance on Palestine

The spokesperson reiterated China's long-standing support for Palestinian self-determination and equitable peace negotiations. Beijing has consistently advocated for a two-state solution through diplomatic channels since 1949.
