Global music icon Snoop Dogg has entered the world of football ownership, joining Welsh club Swansea City as a co-owner and investor. The announcement, made Thursday, highlights the growing appeal of under-the-radar teams following Wrexham’s recent Hollywood-fueled rise.
Swansea City, currently competing in England’s second-tier Championship, did not disclose financial terms but emphasized the partnership’s potential to expand the club’s global reach. Snoop Dogg, who boasts 88 million Instagram followers, recently debuted the team’s 2025-26 home jersey, signaling his active involvement.
"This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me," said the rapper, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. His entry follows Croatian football legend Luka Modrić’s April addition to Swansea’s ownership group.
Club representatives described the move as "the next episode" in their strategy to elevate Swansea’s profile, referencing Snoop Dogg’s music career. While the team last played in the Premier League in 2018, its new high-profile backers suggest ambitions for growth both on and off the pitch.
