China Open to Dialogue with EU Amid WTO Intellectual Property Dispute

China has announced that it remains open to communication with the European Union on intellectual property matters, following a recent complaint filed by the EU at the World Trade Organization (WTO). On Monday, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that channels of communication are always open, emphasizing a willingness to engage in dialogue.

The EU's complaint centers on China's judicial practices regarding standard essential patent disputes. According to the Ministry, China received a consultation request from the EU on January 20, responding promptly to media inquiries about the issue.

The Ministry stressed that China has strictly adhered to WTO rules and its accession commitments. It highlighted the country's continuous efforts to improve legislation and law enforcement related to the protection of intellectual property rights, noting that these achievements have been widely recognized.

\"China will address subsequent matters in accordance with WTO rules and firmly safeguard its legitimate rights and interests,\" the Ministry added, reaffirming its commitment to fair and lawful international trade practices.
