President Xi Jinping Calls for Stronger China-Vietnam Partnership for a Shared Future

On Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to strengthening the relationship between China and Vietnam, aiming to build a community with a shared future that holds strategic significance. As both nations celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties, Xi emphasized the importance of deepening strategic mutual trust and enhancing practical cooperation between the two countries.

In his message exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong, Xi highlighted the profound friendship that has developed over decades. \"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" he remarked, underscoring the unique bond forged through shared struggles for national independence and liberation.

Since establishing diplomatic relations 75 years ago, China and Vietnam have stood side by side, supporting each other in their journeys toward socialism. Xi noted that the two nations have learned from one another and advanced hand in hand, deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation. \"China and Vietnam share the same ideals and pursue a shared future,\" he stated, pointing to the common vision that defines their bilateral relationship.

Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, President Xi reaffirmed the pledge to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. This commitment, he said, elevates the relations between the two countries to a new stage, opening opportunities for greater collaboration and mutual benefit.

\"As changes of the world, of the times, and of history are unfolding in unprecedented ways, China and Vietnam continuing to follow in good faith the path of socialism has a bearing on the future of the two parties and countries,\" Xi expressed. He emphasized the significance of their cooperation not only for their own nations but also for the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world at large.

Looking ahead, President Xi pledged to work closely with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity presented by the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. \"We must keep in mind our original mission and forge ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization,\" he encouraged, aspiring to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both nations and contribute to global human development and progress.
