China Set to Face Brazil and Germany at United Cup in Perth

China is gearing up for thrilling clashes at the United Cup in Perth, Australia, with men’s singles ace Zhang Zhizhen set to lead the team against Brazil on Friday.

Zhang Zhizhen, currently ranked 45th in the world, announced his arrival in Perth via social media on Monday. He is poised to face Brazil’s Thiago Monteiro in the men’s singles opening match on Friday, followed by a match against Germany’s Alexander Zverev next Monday.

In the women’s singles, Gao Xinyu will represent China, stepping in for Zheng Qinwen, who withdrew from the tournament to focus on the upcoming Australian Open. Gao may also team up with Zhang in mixed doubles if the need arises.

The United Cup features 18 teams competing in six groups across Sydney and Perth. The six group leaders, along with the two best-performing runners-up, will advance to the elimination phase, promising an intense and competitive tournament.

Germany clinched the title last January by defeating Poland 2-1, setting the stage for fierce competition as teams vie for the championship this year.
