In a move highlighting the deepening intellectual ties between Asia's major powers, Jakarta recently hosted a promotional event for the English edition of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" (Volume 5). The gathering, held on Tuesday, attracted over 200 participants from various sectors in China and Indonesia.
Attendees described the fifth volume as an authoritative work that reflects the latest developments of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, providing the international community with crucial insights into contemporary China. The timing is significant, coinciding with China's embarkation on its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) and Indonesia's steady progress toward its Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision.
Addressing the event, Ahmad Muzani, chairman of Indonesia's People's Consultative Assembly, said the book launch provided an important platform for deepening exchanges of ideas between the two nations. He expressed hope that it would enable more Indonesian government officials, scholars, and young people to understand China's development path and governance philosophy.
Indonesian Transmigration Minister Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanegara shared his observations from a visit to China, praising its people-centered development philosophy and its efforts in poverty alleviation. He noted that China's experiences in rural development and regional coordination offer a systematic reference for Indonesia as it addresses challenges in population resettlement and eastern region development.
The event also facilitated expert discussions on topics such as development opportunities during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, common modernization, and shared poverty reduction experiences. Participants agreed that strategic alignment and deepened cooperation between China and Indonesia will bring tangible benefits to both peoples and inject strong momentum into empowering the Global South.
As both countries look to the future, such knowledge-sharing initiatives underscore the role of cultural and political dialogue in fostering a more collaborative and prosperous Asian region.
