20th Western China International Fair Opens with Record Global Participation

The 20th Western China International Fair (WCIF) launched in Chengdu on Sunday, drawing a record-breaking 3,000+ enterprises from 62 countries and regions to Sichuan Province. This year's event highlights cross-border collaboration and innovation, with Laos and Hungary serving as inaugural guest countries of honor.

Laos' pavilion features organic teas, premium coffee, and traditional handicrafts, offering a gateway to Southeast Asian markets. Meanwhile, Hungary's delegation spotlights sustainable solutions, including eco-friendly water treatment systems and advanced medical devices from 17 companies.

Organizers emphasize the fair's role in China's western development strategy, creating platforms for technology transfer and supply chain integration. Over 40% of participating firms specialize in green energy, AI, and smart manufacturing – key growth sectors aligning with regional economic priorities.

Business analysts note the event's timing coincides with increased infrastructure investment in western China, particularly in Chengdu's emerging tech corridors. The week-long program includes 12 industry-specific forums addressing digital transformation and sustainable urbanization.
