At the bustling 4th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Expo in Ningbo, Juraj Skacan, editor of Slovakia's premier business magazine Trend, shared fresh insights on cross-border opportunities with CGTN. As a first-time attendee, Skacan emphasized the expo's role as a 'gateway for Central European brands to gain visibility in the world's second-largest economy.'
'Many Slovak companies underestimate the sophistication of Chinese consumers,' Skacan noted during the interview. 'This platform allows us to showcase not just traditional exports like automotive parts, but also our growing tech and sustainable agriculture innovations.'
The editor highlighted three key sectors ripe for collaboration: renewable energy infrastructure, smart manufacturing solutions, and specialty food products. 'China's push for carbon neutrality aligns perfectly with Slovakia's expertise in green technologies,' he explained.
When asked about challenges, Skacan stressed the importance of cultural adaptation: 'Successful market entry requires more than quality products – it demands understanding China's digital ecosystem and regional consumer preferences.'
The expo has already facilitated preliminary talks between Slovak tech startups and Zhejiang-based investors, signaling growing interest in Central European innovation.
