China has unveiled a landmark visa-free policy trial for nationals of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay, effective from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026. The move aims to strengthen cultural and economic ties while inviting South American travelers to explore iconic destinations like Guizhou’s Huangguoshu Falls—Asia’s largest waterfall—and other natural wonders.
This initiative mirrors the shared appreciation for natural beauty across continents. While South America boasts Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site straddling Brazil and Argentina, China’s Huangguoshu offers a 77.8-meter cascade surrounded by karst landscapes. Analysts predict the policy will boost tourism revenue, foster academic collaborations, and deepen cross-continental understanding.
