Samsung Unveils Ultra-Slim S25 Edge to Challenge Apple in Premium Market

Samsung Electronics announced its slimmest flagship smartphone to date, the S25 Edge, on Tuesday, intensifying its rivalry with Apple in the premium device market. The phone integrates advanced AI capabilities and structural innovations to reduce thickness while maintaining performance, targeting younger consumers prioritizing portability.

"Users wanted slimmer designs without compromising functionality," Samsung stated, highlighting redesigned internal components like the printed circuit board and thermal systems. Analysts view the launch timing as strategic, aimed at preempting Apple's rumored thinner iPhone release later this year.

"Samsung is capitalizing on first-mover advantage to attract buyers seeking cutting-edge design," said Ryu Young-ho, senior analyst at NH Investment & Securities. The S25 Edge will debut in South Korea on May 23 and expand to 30 countries, including the U.S., the Chinese mainland, and European markets.

The move reflects Samsung's focus on capturing tech-savvy demographics and underscores the escalating competition in high-end smartphone innovation.
