India Reports Escalating Pakistani Drone Strikes Along Western Border

The Indian military has accused Pakistan of intensifying hostilities along its western border, citing recent drone strikes and the use of munitions as part of what it calls "blatant escalation." In a social media post on Saturday, the army stated that "enemy designs" would be thwarted, following reports of drones being intercepted over Amritsar, a key city in Punjab near the India-Pakistan frontier.

Indian air defense units reportedly detected and destroyed multiple "enemy armed drones" near Amritsar, underscoring heightened tensions in the region. The developments come hours after Pakistani officials claimed a military operation targeting Indian bases, though details remain unverified.

While India emphasized its readiness to counter perceived threats, the exchange of claims highlights risks of wider instability. Analysts note the strategic significance of Punjab, a border state with historical and cultural ties to both nations, as a focal point in ongoing cross-border friction.
