China Calls for Global Unity in Lunar Exploration Efforts

Wu Weiren, chief designer of China's Lunar Exploration Program, highlighted the growing momentum for international collaboration in space exploration during a recent address. Emphasizing the significance of shared goals, he stated, "China welcomes scientists from around the world to contribute to the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS). Together, humanity can achieve breakthroughs of global importance."

As China marks its 10th Space Day on April 24, the nation underscores its commitment to multilateral initiatives — from joint satellite projects to ILRS co-development — as vital steps toward sustainable space exploration. Experts argue that pooling resources and knowledge could unlock answers to pressing challenges: How can space resources be harnessed peacefully? What role can international partnerships play in protecting Earth?

These questions will take center stage in "SPACE FOR ALL: A Journey Beyond Earth," a 45-minute program co-produced by CGTN and the China National Space Administration News Center. The special, launching on Space Day, will feature insights from global space leaders, offering a roadmap for collaborative innovation.

"Space exploration transcends borders," Wu noted. "By aligning our efforts, we ensure that the benefits of discovery are shared by all."
