Finnish Director Praises Chinese Cinema’s Creative Impact at BJIFF 2025

Finnish director Teemu Nikki highlighted the inspiring power of Chinese cinema at the 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), calling it a source of fresh ideas and unique experiences. Speaking to CGTN on the event's red carpet, Nikki, an international jury member for this year’s BJIFF Tiantan Awards, expressed enthusiasm for discovering emerging talent and forging film partnerships.

“Chinese cinema often gives me new ideas and a different experience—I love it,” Nikki said. He emphasized his eagerness to engage with fellow jurors and review submissions, underscoring the festival’s role in bridging global film communities. Nikki also signaled interest in co-productions with Chinese filmmakers, reflecting growing cross-border collaboration in the industry.
