The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command conducted long-range live-fire exercises in the East China Sea on Wednesday, underscoring its ongoing efforts to enhance operational readiness. Senior Colonel Shi Yi, spokesperson for the command, stated the drills were part of the scheduled “Strait Thunder-2025A” training program.
Ground forces targeted simulated strategic assets, including key ports and energy infrastructure, with precision strikes. The exercises achieved their “desired effects,” according to Shi, who emphasized such drills align with routine military planning and reflect the PLA’s commitment to safeguarding regional stability.
