China Launches Global Hunt for Women’s Volleyball Head Coach

China's national women's volleyball team has launched a high-stakes search for a new head coach to steer the squad through the 2025-2028 competition cycle, including the 2028 Summer Olympics. The recruitment drive, overseen by the country's sports authorities, emphasizes leadership prowess and tactical expertise to revive the team's legacy as a global powerhouse.

Vision for a Champion's Revival

Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record in managing elite teams, innovative coaching methodologies, and the ability to deliver results at tournaments such as the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League and Asian Games. The chosen candidate will face immediate pressure to improve upon China's quarterfinal finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics under outgoing coach Cai Bin.

Legacy of Excellence

Cai Bin, appointed in 2022, leaves behind a mixed record: a historic gold at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games but inconsistency in global tournaments. The selection committee will accept applications until March 25, with an appointment expected ahead of June's international fixtures.
