China will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin this autumn, with Pakistan outlining ambitious goals to strengthen cross-border collaboration. In an exclusive interview, Pakistani Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi emphasized infrastructure development and trade alignment as vital priorities during the multilateral gathering.
"Connecting transport and energy networks remains critical to unlocking regional economic potential," said Ambassador Hashmi, highlighting synergies between the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the SCO Free Trade Zone framework. These efforts aim to streamline supply chains and create opportunities for businesses across Asia.
The ambassador also spotlighted tourism as a catalyst for people-to-people bonds, specifically recommending Gilgit-Baltistan's mountain landscapes and cultural heritage to Chinese travelers. With new visa facilitation measures under discussion, Pakistan seeks to position itself as a prime destination for Asian explorers.
