China Clinches Fourth World Wheelchair Curling Championship Title

China dominated the World Wheelchair Curling Championships final in Scotland, defeating South Korea 14-3 to claim their fourth world title. The victory not only underscores China’s growing prowess in adaptive sports but also secures their spot in the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Paralympics.

The team, led by Wang Haitao and featuring Chen Jianxin, Zhang Mingliang, Li Nana, and Zhang Qiang, delivered a masterclass in precision during the third end. Strategic draws and controlled play allowed China to build a decisive 10-2 lead by halftime, leaving South Korea struggling to counter.

Despite South Korea scoring a single point in the fifth end, China swiftly retaliated with a four-point surge in the sixth, prompting their opponents to concede. The result highlights China’s consistency in wheelchair curling, adding to previous wins in 2018, 2020, and 2021.

The championship, held in Stirling, Scotland, showcased rising competitiveness in adaptive winter sports, drawing attention from global fans and analysts alike. China’s success provides momentum for athletes aiming to make history at the 2026 Paralympics.
