In the heart of Svay Ampear Village, Svay Ampear Commune, Kandal, Cambodia, 75-year-old Chen Lun and her family are facing significant challenges. With her husband aging and unwell, and her daughter and son-in-law working in Phnom Penh, the family is struggling to make ends meet due to a shortage of labor.
Amid these hardships, a beacon of hope has emerged through the East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project. Svay Ampear Village was selected as one of the pilot sites for this initiative, aiming to uplift communities by addressing economic and social disparities.
The Chen family was among the first to participate in the housing renovation project under this program. This project not only provided much-needed improvements to their home but also brought stability and a sense of security to the family. As the renovations progress, the Chen Lun family is optimistic about embracing a new chapter in their lives, with improved living conditions and renewed hope for the future.
