Han Mei of the Chinese mainland and Ning Zhongyan delivered outstanding performances at the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Heerenveen, Netherlands, each earning bronze medals in their respective events.
The competition commenced on Friday, featuring four events: the men's and women's 500 meters and the 1500 meters. In the women's 1500m final, Han Mei clocked a commendable time of 1 minute and 54.52 seconds to secure the bronze medal. Japan's Miho Takagi finished just 0.53 seconds ahead to claim the silver, while Joy Beune crossed the finish line in 1 minute and 53.70 seconds to take the gold medal. Additionally, China's Yang Binyu and Yin Qi showed strong performances, finishing in 5th and 6th place respectively.
Ning Zhongyan also showcased his speed and skill in the men's race, where he achieved a bronze medal, further highlighting the Chinese mainland's growing prowess in the speed skating arena.
