Chinese Vice President Han Zheng Meets New Zealand Deputy PM to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

In a significant move to bolster bilateral relations, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters in Beijing on Wednesday.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting held last November, where both leaders laid the strategic foundation for the continued development of China-New Zealand relations from a new starting point.

Vice President Han emphasized that as the China-New Zealand comprehensive strategic partnership enters its second decade, China remains committed to enhancing this relationship. Deputy Prime Minister Peters echoed Han's sentiments, highlighting New Zealand's dedication to developing strong ties with China. He expressed New Zealand's willingness to strengthen dialogue, enhance mutual understanding, and deepen economic and trade cooperation, positioning New Zealand as an active and engaged partner of China.
