Chinese Mainland Defends Live-Fire Drills Near Australian Waters

In response to recent criticisms from Australia regarding its naval activities, the Chinese mainland's Ministry of National Defense has reaffirmed that its live-fire drills conducted near Australian waters are fully compliant with international law and standard practices.

The Australian authorities have denounced the drills for lacking transparency, highlighting concerns over the frequency and nature of the exercises. However, Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, stated that the drills were carried out in international waters, far from Australia's coastline, and that safety notices were issued well in advance to ensure transparency and safety.

Wu emphasized, \"The Australian side's remarks are completely inconsistent with the facts,\" underscoring the mainland's commitment to adhering to international norms and addressing safety protocols during its naval operations.
