China and Pakistan Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Beijing Meeting

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Beijing on Thursday. The leaders underscored the expanding scope of bilateral cooperation, highlighting the deepening ironclad friendship between the two nations.

Premier Li emphasized China's commitment to working closely with Pakistan to implement the important consensus reached by both heads of state. The discussion also focused on aligning the development strategies of China and Pakistan to promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. Both leaders agreed to accelerate the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and prioritize major infrastructure projects, including roads, railways, and ports. Additionally, they pledged to deepen collaboration in agriculture, mining, new energy, information technology, and artificial intelligence.

Premier Li highlighted China's readiness to enhance security cooperation with Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions operating in Pakistan. This commitment reflects the broader goal of fostering mutual development and stability through comprehensive and strategic partnerships.
