Chinese Leaders Extend Spring Festival Greetings to Retired Officials

As the Spring Festival approaches, President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders have personally visited or entrusted others to visit retired senior officials, extending warm greetings ahead of the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

President Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed wishes of a happy Spring Festival, good health, and longevity to the esteemed former officials. The visits reflect the Party's tradition of respecting and valuing the contributions of its senior members.

The retired officials expressed high regard for the CPC Central Committee's achievements over the past year. They voiced wholehearted support for President Xi's core position on the CPC Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, emphasizing the importance of strong leadership in navigating China's path forward.

With optimism for the future, they expressed hope that the Party, the military, and people of all ethnic groups will unite even more closely around the CPC Central Committee with Xi at its core. They stressed the significance of building China into a stronger country and achieving national rejuvenation through a Chinese path to modernization.

The Spring Festival, also known as the Lunar New Year, is a time of reunion and celebration in China, symbolizing new beginnings and the ushering in of prosperity.
