China’s National Day Holiday Box Office Surpasses 2 Billion Yuan

China's National Day holiday box office revenue has soared past two billion yuan (approximately $285 million), according to data from movie platform Maoyan. The impressive figures highlight the robust performance of the domestic film industry during one of the country's most significant movie-going periods.

Dominating the charts are three homegrown productions: \"The Volunteers: The Battle of Life and Death,\" \"Bureau 749,\" and \"Tiger Wolf Rabbit.\"

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Chen Kaige, \"The Volunteers: The Battle of Life and Death\" is the second installment of his \"The Volunteers\" trilogy. Since its premiere on September 30, the film has amassed 781 million yuan, accounting for 38.1 percent of the holiday's total box office revenue.

Not far behind, Lu Chuan's science fiction epic \"Bureau 749\" and the gripping crime drama \"Tiger Wolf Rabbit\" have garnered over 353 million yuan and 348 million yuan, respectively, as of Monday afternoon.

The National Day holiday has long been a lucrative period for China's film industry, drawing audiences in large numbers to cinemas across the country. This year's exceptional box office performance underscores the enduring appeal of domestic cinema and the enthusiasm of moviegoers during the festive season.
