Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to working closely with Vietnamese leaders to enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen practical cooperation, and achieve new milestones in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
In remarks made on Saturday during an exchange of congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Xi highlighted the profound friendship between the two socialist neighbors.
\\"China and Vietnam represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\\" Xi said, emphasizing the deep-rooted bonds formed over decades. \\"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, the two sides have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggle for national independence and liberation.\\"
He noted that the phrase \\"'So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers'\\" has become the most vivid portrayal of the relations between the two parties and countries.
Xi underscored the importance of learning from each other in advancing socialism and forging ahead hand in hand to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation. He pointed out that sharing the same ideals and pursuing a shared future is the most striking feature of the relations between the two parties and countries.
Recalling his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi remarked that both sides pledged to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating the relations to a new stage.
\\"As changes of the world, of the times and of history are unfolding in unprecedented ways, China and Vietnam continuing to follow in good faith the path of socialism has a bearing on the future of the two parties and countries as well as the future of the global socialist cause,\\" Xi stated. \\"It is of great significance to the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world at large.\\"
Expressing his dedication to the growth of bilateral relations, Xi said he is willing to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for keeping in mind the original mission and forging ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver more benefits to the peoples of both nations and contribute significantly to the revitalization of the global socialist cause and human development.
