Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community in Washington D.C. on Sunday, expressing hope that American companies will continue to invest and establish deeper roots in China. Han emphasized the crucial role that U.S. businesses play as a bridge in fostering steady, sound, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.<\/p>
The meeting included leaders from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Han is visiting Washington D.C. as the special representative of Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, scheduled for Monday.<\/p>
During discussions, Han highlighted that President Xi and President-elect Trump recently reached important common understandings on the development of China-U.S. relations during a phone call. Representatives of the U.S. business community welcomed the positive signals from the recent conversation between Trump and Xi. They expressed optimism about China's economic prospects and the opportunities for development, supporting the strengthening of dialogue and communication to advance bilateral relations and economic and trade cooperation.<\/p>
\"As the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the U.S. and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation and work towards finding a constructive and stable way to coexist,\" they stated.<\/p>
On the same day, Han also met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed U.S. companies like Tesla to seize opportunities in China's development and contribute to promoting China-U.S. economic and trade relations. Musk expressed readiness to deepen Tesla's investment and cooperation with China and to play an active role in enhancing economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.<\/p>
