President Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, recently visited northeast China's Liaoning Province ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, one of the most significant holidays in China.
During his visit on Thursday, President Xi toured the cold rolling mill of Bensteel Group located in Benxi City. Emphasizing the importance of the steel industry, he remarked that it serves as a crucial foundational industry for the nation. He highlighted that the real economy forms the bedrock of China's national economy, underlining the need for continuous development and innovation within the sector.
Earlier in the day, President Xi stopped by a bustling food market in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province. Engaging with local vendors and shoppers, he assessed the market's supply and prices during the festive season, ensuring that residents have ample access to essential goods and a prosperous holiday experience.
The inspections reflect the government's commitment to supporting key industries and monitoring the well-being of citizens during major festivals.
