Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.

During an annual gathering held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year.

In his address, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to ensure sustained social and economic progress in 2025.

Xi called upon non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with the central tasks of the nation, serve the overall interests of the country, and leverage their unique strengths. He urged them to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength to contribute to national development.

Underscoring the importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025), Xi stressed the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promote high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi highlighted the critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He called for concerted efforts to address these issues to ensure sustainable development.

Xi also emphasized the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He encouraged the federation to help private enterprises maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering reflects the CPC's commitment to fostering unity and collaboration among various political parties and groups within China. As the nation embarks on a new year, these collective efforts aim to drive forward China's development goals and enhance the well-being of its people.
