Firefighters Prepare Lunch for Quake-Hit Villagers in Xizang’s Dingri County

It has been over a week since a magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on January 7. As resettlement and reconstruction efforts continue, firefighters from the Xizang Forest Firefighting Special Operations Unit have been providing support to the affected communities.

At Cuo'ang Village in Quluo Town, Dingri County, the firefighters have taken on more than just rescue operations. They are also preparing meals for the villagers, offering comfort and assistance in these challenging times. Our reporter, Zhao Chenchen, visited the village to witness firsthand the efforts being made to help residents rebuild their lives.

\"We want to do everything we can to help the villagers feel cared for,\" said a member of the firefighting unit. \"Preparing meals is a small way to bring some normalcy back into their lives.\"

Villagers expressed gratitude for the firefighters' support. \"They have been a great help not just in rescue but also in daily life,\" said one resident. \"We are thankful for their kindness and hard work.\"

The dedication of the firefighters exemplifies the communal spirit in the face of natural disasters. As reconstruction efforts progress, the cooperation between the rescue teams and local communities continues to strengthen the resilience of Dingri County.
