Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

In a festive gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended warm Spring Festival greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

Xi, who is also the Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his best wishes ahead of the Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year. The event highlighted the spirit of unity and collaboration as the nation prepares to welcome the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Emphasis on High-Quality Development

During the gathering, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He underscored the country's focus on high-quality development and the promotion of greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts aim to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025.

Call for United Efforts

Xi called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength for the nation's development goals.

Achieving 14th Five-Year Plan Targets

The importance of achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) was underscored by Xi, who highlighted the need to lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development, actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulate proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Environmental Stewardship

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection. He emphasized that safeguarding the environment is essential for sustainable development.

Support for the Private Sector

Xi highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. He called for efforts to maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering concluded with a shared commitment to unity and collaboration, setting a positive tone for the upcoming year.
