Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Groups

In a gesture of unity ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings on Monday to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front.

Speaking at an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi, who is also the Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, conveyed his well-wishes as the nation prepares to celebrate the Lunar New Year on January 29 this year.

During the event, Xi emphasized China's commitment to implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies. He highlighted the focus on high-quality development and promoting greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology to sustain sound social and economic progress in 2025.

Xi called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to align with central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength.

Underscoring the importance of the year 2025, Xi noted that achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) would lay a solid foundation for the next five years. He expressed hope that non-CPC personages would mobilize all positive forces to advance development and actively contribute to comprehensively deepening reform, promoting high-quality development, and formulating proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030).

Addressing environmental concerns, Xi stressed the need to tackle critical and challenging problems in the supervision of the Yangtze River ecosystem's protection.

He also highlighted the role of the ACFIC in guiding the private sector. Xi urged the federation to help private businesses maintain enthusiasm for entrepreneurship, bolster confidence in development, and establish and improve modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features.

The gathering served as a reminder of the collaborative efforts required to achieve China's development goals, with Xi emphasizing unity and cooperation among all political and social groups as the nation moves forward into the new year.
