On Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his commitment to strengthen ties with Vietnam, emphasizing a shared future of strategic significance between the two socialist neighbors. In a message exchanged with Vietnamese leaders on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Xi highlighted the importance of deepening strategic mutual trust and practical cooperation.

Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, reached out to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He underscored that China and Vietnam represent a community with a shared future, rooted in a profound friendship forged through decades of mutual support and solidarity.

\"Since establishing diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our nations have fought side by side in the struggle for national independence and liberation,\" Xi remarked. \"The profound friendship between Vietnam and China, as comrades and brothers, vividly portrays the strong relations between our parties and countries.\"

Highlighting the shared path of socialism, Xi noted that both countries have learned from each other and advanced hand in hand, deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation. \"China and Vietnam share the same ideals and pursue a shared future, which is the most striking feature of our relations,\" he said.

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi recalled the pledge to work towards a China-Vietnam community with a shared future, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage. He emphasized that amidst unprecedented global changes, continuing on the path of socialism bears significant impact on the future of both parties and countries, and contributes to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Xi expressed his readiness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders during the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges, seizing the opportunity of the diplomatic milestone to forge ahead toward socialist modernization. \"We aim to deliver more benefits to our peoples and make important contributions to revitalizing the global socialist cause and promoting human development and progress,\" he stated.
