Beijing, China – President Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, presided over a pivotal meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Monday. The gathering focused on reviewing significant reports and setting the direction for the nation's development in the coming year.
The meeting meticulously examined a report from the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau after hearing and discussing the work reports of the leading Party members' groups from the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the Supreme People's Court (SPC), and the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP). Specific initiatives were outlined, including systematically enhancing water source conservation in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, strengthening soil and water conservation in the middle reaches, and advancing wetland protection and ecological governance in the lower reaches. These steps aim to ensure the long-term sustainability and environmental health of the river basin.
