In a message exchanged with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Xi highlighted the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
\"China and Vietnam, two friendly socialist neighbors, represent a community with a shared future that carries strategic significance,\" Xi stated. He reflected on the historical bonds forged over decades, noting that the two countries have \"fought side by side and supported each other in their struggle for national independence and liberation.\"
Xi emphasized that the profound friendship between China and Vietnam stems from their shared ideals and mutual support. \"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" he remarked, underscoring the deep ties between the two parties and countries.
The Chinese president recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to elevate their relations to a new stage. He stressed the importance of deepening comprehensive strategic cooperation and learning from each other in advancing socialism.
As the world undergoes unprecedented changes, Xi noted that China and Vietnam's commitment to the path of socialism significantly impacts the future of both nations and the global socialist cause.
