Xi Jinping Emphasizes Stable China-Russia Relations Amid Global Uncertainties
In a video meeting held on Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged to strengthen the stable and resilient relationship between their two countries to address uncertainties in the external environment.
President Xi highlighted the importance of China-Russia ties, stating, \"In 2025, I am ready to work with President Putin to continue guiding China-Russia relations towards greater heights to cope with the uncertainties of the external environment with the stability and resilience of China-Russia relations, jointly promote the development and revitalization of the two countries, and uphold international fairness and justice.\"
He called for deepening strategic cooperation, reinforcing mutual support, and safeguarding the legitimate interests of both nations. Xi also urged for the consolidation and expansion of bilateral relations and the promotion of practical cooperation.
President Putin echoed Xi's sentiments, noting that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other and treated each other as equals. \"Cooperation between our two sides serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin added.
During the meeting, the two leaders engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern, agreeing to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
