Xi Jinping Calls for Enhanced China-Vietnam Community with Shared Future

Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his readiness to work with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust, strengthen practical cooperation, and achieve new milestones in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

On Saturday, Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Vietnam.

\"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" Xi remarked, highlighting the shared history and solidarity between the two nations. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, the two sides have fought side by side and supported each other in their struggles for national independence and liberation.

Xi noted that in advancing socialism, China and Vietnam have learned from each other and forged ahead hand in hand, deepening their comprehensive strategic cooperation. He emphasized that the shared ideals and pursuit of a common future are the most striking features of the relations between the two parties and countries.

Reflecting on his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, Xi said that the two sides pledged to work toward a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance, elevating bilateral relations to a new stage.

As changes in the world unfold in unprecedented ways, Xi stressed that China and Vietnam's commitment to the path of socialism bears on the future of both nations and has great significance for global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Xi expressed his willingness to work with Vietnamese leaders to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He called for keeping in mind the original mission and forging ahead on the new journey toward socialist modernization, aiming to deliver more benefits to the two peoples and contribute to the revitalization of the global socialist cause.
