Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with representatives of the U.S. business community in Washington D.C. on Sunday, emphasizing the importance of continued investment and cooperation between China and the United States. Han encouraged U.S. companies to deepen their roots in China and to play an active role in fostering a stable and sustainable bilateral relationship.

Han is in Washington D.C. to attend the inauguration ceremony of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Monday, serving as Chinese President Xi Jinping's special representative. During his meetings, Han conveyed that President Xi and President-elect Trump have reached significant common understandings regarding the future development of China-U.S. relations following a recent phone conversation.

Highlighting the broad common interests and vast potential for cooperation, Han stated that ensuring a positive and steady start to the bilateral relationship serves the well-being of both nations and meets international expectations. He praised the U.S. business community as the backbone of China-U.S. relations, acknowledging their role as participants, witnesses, contributors, and beneficiaries of economic and trade cooperation as well as China's reform and opening-up initiatives.

\"China will unswervingly advance its reform and opening-up efforts and continue to improve its business environment,\" Han assured the business leaders. He expressed hope that U.S. enterprises would seize the opportunities presented by China's development and contribute to mutual prosperity.

Representatives from the U.S.-China Business Council and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce voiced optimism about China's economic prospects and development opportunities. They noted that the recent communication between President Xi and President-elect Trump sent a positive and encouraging message. \"As the world's two most dynamic and technologically advanced economies, the U.S. and China should pursue mutually beneficial cooperation and work towards finding a constructive and stable way to coexist,\" they emphasized.

The U.S. business community expressed strong support for strengthening dialogue and communication to advance bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two countries.

In addition to meeting with business representatives, Han Zheng also held discussions with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Han welcomed Tesla and other U.S. companies to share in the fruits of China's development. \"We invite U.S. enterprises, including Tesla, to deepen investment and cooperation with China,\" Han stated, highlighting the potential for collaborative growth.

Musk responded positively, expressing readiness to expand Tesla's investment and cooperation in China. He underscored the company's commitment to playing an active role in promoting economic and trade exchanges between the U.S. and China.

Han Zheng's meetings reflect a mutual desire to enhance China-U.S. relations through open dialogue and collaborative efforts, setting a hopeful tone for future cooperation as the new U.S. administration takes office.
