Xi Jinping Calls for Strengthened China-Vietnam Partnership on 75th Anniversary

In a message commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed his commitment to working closely with Vietnamese leaders to deepen strategic mutual trust and enhance practical cooperation between the two countries.

Xi, who is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, exchanged congratulations with To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and Vietnamese President Luong Cuong. He emphasized that China and Vietnam, as friendly socialist neighbors, form a community with a shared future of strategic significance.

\"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 75 years ago, our two sides have fought side by side and supported each other in the struggle for national independence and liberation,\" Xi said. \"So profound is the friendship between Vietnam and China, because we are both comrades and brothers,\" he added, highlighting the deep bond between the two nations.

Xi recalled his successful visit to Vietnam in 2023, during which both sides pledged to work towards building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. He noted that this commitment has elevated the relations between the two parties and countries to a new stage.

Amid unprecedented changes unfolding globally, Xi underscored the importance of China and Vietnam continuing to follow the socialist path in good faith. He stated that this commitment bears on the future of both parties and countries, the global socialist cause, and has great significance for regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Looking ahead, Xi affirmed his willingness to collaborate with Vietnamese leaders, seizing the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. He emphasized keeping in mind the original mission and forging ahead on the journey toward socialist modernization to deliver more benefits to the peoples of both countries and contribute to human development and progress.
