The Political Bureau reviewed a comprehensive report from its Standing Committee, which included work reports from the leading Party members' groups of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the Supreme People's Court (SPC), and the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP). The work report of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee was also examined.

The meeting acknowledged the accomplishments of these leading Party members' groups over the past year and approved their work plans for 2025. Emphasizing the importance of action and reform, the meeting called on these groups to prioritize tasks, consolidate efforts to advance reforms, and contribute to high-quality development and the realization of Chinese modernization.

The Secretariat was urged to enhance its political capabilities, strengthen strict self-governance, and effectively carry out all tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee.

A key focus of the meeting was the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. The significance of fully enforcing the Yellow River Protection Law was highlighted. The meeting underscored the need to systematically enhance water source conservation in the upper reaches, strengthen soil and water conservation in the middle reaches, and advance wetland protection and ecological governance in the lower reaches.

Efforts were called for to ensure the safety of critical dams, reservoirs, and infrastructure. The meeting stressed the importance of aligning the Yellow River's high-quality development with broader strategies, such as the large-scale development of the western region and the rise of the central region. Moreover, it emphasized improving holistic and systematic protection of cultural heritage and promoting the integration of culture and tourism development.
