Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening China-Russia relations to address global uncertainties during a video meeting on Tuesday.
President Xi emphasized that a stable and resilient partnership between China and Russia is essential in coping with external environment uncertainties. He expressed readiness to work with President Putin in 2025 to further elevate bilateral relations, promote development and revitalization of both countries, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi stated, highlighting the importance of consolidating and expanding bilateral relations and promoting in-depth practical cooperation.
President Putin reaffirmed the strong ties between Russia and China, noting that both nations have always trusted and supported each other and treated each other as equals. \"Cooperation between our countries serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" Putin added.
During the meeting, the two leaders engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
