Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a video meeting on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia to address global uncertainties.
President Xi stated that in 2025, he is prepared to work with President Putin to elevate China-Russia relations to new heights. He highlighted the need to cope with external uncertainties through the stability and resilience of their bilateral ties, jointly promote the development and revitalization of both countries, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi added. He also called for consolidating and expanding bilateral relations and promoting the in-depth development of practical cooperation.
President Putin echoed Xi's sentiments, noting that Russia and China have always trusted and supported each other, treating each other as equals. \"Cooperation between our two countries serves the interests of both peoples and will never be impacted by changes in the international situation,\" he remarked.
During the meeting, the leaders exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common concern and agreed to maintain strategic communication throughout the year.
