Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visited Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Thursday, ahead of the upcoming Spring Festival.
With the most important festival for the Chinese people falling on January 29 this year, Xi made the trip to meet with local residents and inspect preparations for the holiday season.
During his visit, Xi toured a local food market and a residential community in Shenyang. He inquired about the supply of goods during the holiday, measures to meet residents' daily needs, and efforts to optimize public services. Xi also learned about the progress made in improving people's livelihoods in the region.
For more than a decade, Xi, as the top leader of the Party and the state, has made it a tradition to spend time with ordinary people ahead of the Spring Festival. His visits highlight the government's focus on ensuring the well-being of its citizens during this significant time of the year.
