Xi Jinping Extends Spring Festival Greetings to Non-CPC Personages

On Monday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended festive greetings to members of non-CPC political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), personages without party affiliation, and other members of the united front ahead of the Spring Festival.

During an annual gathering at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Xi Jinping conveyed his warm wishes in anticipation of the Lunar New Year, which falls on January 29 this year. The event brought together leaders and representatives from various sectors, highlighting the unity and collaborative spirit within China's diverse political landscape.

In his address, Xi emphasized the importance of implementing more proactive and impactful macroeconomic policies to sustain sound social and economic development in 2025. He underscored the need to focus on high-quality development and promote greater self-reliance and strength in science and technology. These efforts, he noted, are crucial for achieving the targets set in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) and laying a solid foundation for the next five years.

Xi Jinping called on non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, and personages without party affiliation to concentrate on central tasks and serve the country's overall interests. He encouraged them to leverage their unique strengths to rally broader support, build consensus, and pool wisdom and strength in advancing development. Their active participation, he said, is vital in comprehensively deepening reform and promoting high-quality growth.

He also urged these groups to contribute actively to the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), mobilizing all positive forces to advance China's development goals. Addressing critical and challenging problems, Xi stressed the need for effective supervision in protecting the Yangtze River ecosystem, highlighting environmental sustainability as a key priority.

Regarding the private sector, Xi Jinping noted that the ACFIC should guide private enterprises in maintaining enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and bolstering confidence in development. He emphasized the importance of establishing and improving modern corporate systems with distinctive Chinese features, contributing to the nation's economic vitality and innovation capacity.

The gathering reflected the inclusive approach of China's leadership in engaging with various political and social groups to achieve common goals. As the country prepares to welcome the Spring Festival, Xi's messages aim to inspire collective efforts toward a prosperous and harmonious future.
