Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of a stable and resilient relationship between China and Russia during a video meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. Xi stated that strengthening their partnership would help address uncertainties in the external world.
Xi expressed his readiness to work with Putin in 2025 to guide China-Russia relations to new heights. He highlighted that the stability and resilience of their bilateral ties would enable both countries to cope with external challenges, promote development and revitalization, and uphold international fairness and justice.
\"The two sides should continue to deepen strategic cooperation, firm up mutual support, and safeguard the legitimate interests of both countries,\" Xi noted.
President Putin affirmed the strong ties between Russia and China, stating that the two countries have always trusted and supported each other, treating one another as equals. He emphasized that their cooperation serves the interests of both peoples and will remain unaffected by changes in the international situation.
During the meeting, the leaders also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern. They agreed to maintain strategic communication in the coming year.
