Xi Jinping Inspects Shenyang Ahead of Spring Festival

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Thursday visited Shenyang, the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, to meet with local residents ahead of the Spring Festival.

The Spring Festival, which falls on January 29 this year, is the most significant traditional festival for the Chinese people, marking the beginning of the lunar new year. In anticipation of the celebrations, Xi Jinping made a point to connect with communities and assess preparations for the holiday.

During his visit, Xi stopped by a bustling food market where vendors showcased a rich variety of goods. He engaged with merchants and shoppers, inquiring about the availability and prices of essential commodities. Xi emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate supply and stable prices to meet the daily needs of the people during the festive season.

Xi also toured a local residential community, where he discussed measures to enhance public services and improve living conditions. He listened attentively to residents' experiences and suggestions, acknowledging the progress made in enhancing their quality of life. The community members expressed their appreciation for the government's efforts in optimizing services and infrastructure.

For over a decade, it has been a tradition for Xi, as the top leader of the Party and the state, to spend time with ordinary people ahead of the Spring Festival. His visits reflect a commitment to staying connected with the populace and addressing their concerns. Xi's interactions in Shenyang underscored the government's dedication to fostering social welfare and economic development in the region.

As the holiday approaches, the visit also highlighted the cultural significance of the Spring Festival in promoting unity and shared prosperity across China. Xi extended his festive greetings to the residents, wishing them a joyful and prosperous new year.
